Gary Montgomery, CEO of Montgomery & Associates, founded the company in 1996. He has been practicing civil and environmental engineering in Houston since 1970 in the municipal, industrial and land development business sectors. He has served as president and/or CEO of three consulting engineering firms in the past 25 years. Montgomery has also served as principal-in-charge for projects in transportation, hydraulics/hydrology, utilities, water supply, wastewater treatment, construction and site planning. Previous projects he has worked on include planning and design of a 17-mile, $40 million state highway; comprehensive study of storm water quality for the Lake Houston watershed; project management and design of 30 wastewater treatment plants; master planning of an 1100-acre residential development; and design of a 200,000 gpm storm water pumping station.

Montgomery is the San Jacinto River Authority Chairman and North Corridor Coalition I-45 Transit Chairman. He is a member of the Houston Council of Engineering Companies, Montgomery County Developers Association, North Houston Association, Greater Houston Builders Association and multiple chambers of commerce.

Montgomery earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Math/Physics from Centenary College and later earned his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana.
